Hello and welcome! My name is Cédric, I’m a native French teacher from Paris.
As a dedicated and passionate French teacher with over a decade of experience, I specialize in guiding students to fluency and confidence in spoken French. My teaching journey has been a global adventure, from Paris to London, Buenos Aires, and Belo Horizonte, where I’ve honed my skills in diverse educational settings.
Teaching Philosophy
Transitioning from five years as a counselor in Paris, I embraced language teaching in 2015, focusing on the limitless possibilities of online education. My teaching philosophy is centered on the principle of “Learning to Speak, Speaking to Learn.” While I recognize the importance of reading and writing, I prioritize spoken proficiency above all else. In my classes, I make sure my students get a solid foundation in French pronunciation, grammar, and syntax, nurturing a natural and confident speaking style akin to native speakers.
Instead of relying on textbooks or grammar rules, I immerse students in a genuine French speaking experience. Through meaningful conversations about their lives, interests, and aspirations, they absorb vocabulary and language structures organically. Indeed, learning to speak a language isn’t about memorization and drills: learners must actively engage with the language, similar to craftsmen honing their skills through practical experience.
Like a master craftsman guiding an apprentice, I provide immediate feedback and guidance to students, ensuring they build inner criteria and self-confidence in speaking. I emphasize personal and emotional engagement, encouraging students to express themselves authentically so that they develop a genuine connection to French.
Focusing on the most challenging aspects of French, I empower students to achieve fluency and a natural intuition for the language’s essence. This way I am sure to equip students not with just words or mechanical speech, but with true proficiency in speaking French.
